All our loving dogs go to heaven.

My sister’s dog Jasper died this month. He was very old and in pain. I’m generally indifferent toward pets but I liked Jasper a lot. He was relatively calm and didn’t lick me too much.

My friends’ cat Carmen died a couple months ago too. We were not particularly friendly but I was sorry for the loss. She taught me that cats dislike playing peek-a-boo. Her cancer progressed rapidly and she passed before I had a chance to Facetime with her.

2015 was kind of like that. All fine until suddenly it wasn’t and everything was thrown into disarray before I could brace myself. I’m glad the end of this year has come. I feel ready to write this obituary and move on to a new year.

My dad reassured my sister saying “All our loving dogs will have places to live in heaven.” He has a few advanced degrees in theology so I’d say he’s a reliable source. Also, I just read online that the pope said the same thing so there you have it.

All our loving dogs go to heaven.

All our loving dogs go to heaven.
